Small Business Saturday, Gifts, & Rambles

My home is really quiet right now. Kai's sleeping and Mateo is sleeping on me. He finally slept for a straight 6 hours last night. That's a record. The most Mateo has slept without waking up is 4 hours. 2 extra hours makes Kai and I very happy. I woke up at 7am and made coffee. I thought about going back to sleep after I fed Mateo since he decided to fall asleep mid feeding, but I knew if I did, I would get too much rest, so 5 hours of sleep was good enough for me. After I drank coffee, I guzzled (that's not a cute word to use, I don't know why it popped into my head) down a lot of water and made myself a big bowl of gluten free oatmeal. I'm not sure why we have gluten free oatmeal. Maybe I grabbed the wrong box at Safeway.

It's cloudy and cold in Seattle. What's new? There are days where gloomy weather excites me, but not today. I wish the sun was out or something. My apartment needs light! Well, maybe not right now as Mateo sleeps because he'll wake right up if he has too much light on his face, but hopefully after his nap, the sun will come out. Is anyone else getting a lot of anxiety looking at all these Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals? It's too much! There's too much to choose from! I made a promise that I would buy my family's Christmas gifts with these crazy sales instead of buying myself more stuff I really don't need. I also made a promise that I would get my family really thoughtful gifts. Stuff that will make them say, "How'd you know I wanted this?!" I've been looking on Amazon, Nordstrom, and Etsy. Etsy always has such cute and homey gifts. Oh yeah, and I'm looking on my favorite Instagram shops as well. I'm getting Kai such a good gift. I'm pretty proud of myself, but our bank account ain't gonna be proud. It's okay though! I know he'll use the gift I'm giving him everyday, so obviously it's worth it. I know I just said that I wasn't going to buy myself anything just yet, but I did just buy a few calendars for the apartment on Etsy. I mean, today IS Small Business Saturday, so why not? Last year, I had two calendars with their own theme. One was a composer calendar and the other was a coffee/tea calendar. Each month had its own theme and I swear I would get really excited to turn to a new month because of how beautiful the art was on the calendars. For 2017, I decided to keep it simple. I bought two calendars and wrapping paper (oh yeah, I forgot to mention I bought Christmas wrapping paper) on Etsy from shops FavoriteStoryFoxHollowDesignCo, and evesand. If you click on the images below, the pictures will pop up and you'll able to see more.

The wrapping paper!!! Look how nice it looks. It was kind of a impulse purchase, but I really wanted special wrapping paper for the gifts. I know it's gonna end up being thrown out, but whatever. I don't care. I also wanted to mention a couple of shirts I bought las month from an Instagram shop. I think I mentioned it on my previous post, but I didn't get a chance to show the actual shirts I bought. I'm wearing one right now. The one I have on in the picture up there. Look how peaceful my baby looks. Just kidding, he woke up immediately after I took that picture, He ended up in bed with Kai and now they're both passed out. QTs! The Instagram shop: thebeeandthefox! What a cool shop I came across. All of their shirts. I want to buy them all! I bought my top 3 favorite. I wanted to buy Mateo a onesie from here, but he honestly has way too many onesies right now. A lot from baby gap and Zara. I didn't even get a chance to see if Zara had a sale for baby boy clothes. Anyway! A girl that follows me on Instagram asked me where I got the "never underestimate the power of a woman" shirt and I might as well share to everyone where I got it from. :) Ok, I gotta get back to this online shopping. I can't wait to share pictures of the Christmas decorations I bought in my next post.
